NAGA CITY — Some of the country’s top merchants had a glimpse of the upcoming SM City Naga during the recent Tenants’ Review at the SMX Convention Center.

SM Prime Holdings President Hans T. Sy welcomed the tenants during the event, together with SCMC President Annie Garcia, VP for Leasing Daisy Chua, and SM City Lucena’s Mall Manager Jason Terrenal.

SM City Naga, which is scheduled to open on May 1, 2009, will be SM prime Holding’s 34th supermall, and is the company’s first in the Bicol region. It is envisioned to be one of the landmarks in bustling Naga City, which is Camarines Sur’s center for trade, commerce, transport, finance, education and government services.

The SM Environment Committtee’s first major project for 2009, the SM Supermalls Green Bag Project was conceived with the recycling principle in mind. The bag, intended to reduce solid waste as customers shop, was launched simultaneously in all SM Malls and is now available for excited SM City Naga mallers. An environmental sustainability initiative, the limited edition bag features the art of famous Filipino painter, Mr. Manuel “Manny” Baldemor. The four unique designs depict the components of the earth: air, water, land and energy—forces that would converge in a bag that would define a more eco-friendly shopping experience.
